Sylvana 1 & 2 2009, Southern Housing Group

Winning entry for public art competition in Brighton. The brief called for two site specific focal sculptures for separate but identical courtyards, each surrounded and overlooked by apartments. One phase of the development is populated mainly by families with young children, while the other is made up of professional couples and young adults. The pieces were to be linked in some way although they cannot be seen at the same time, the forms echoing and complimenting each other. Constructed in galvanised steel, stainless steel and Rimex textured stainless steel to cope with the seaside location. Integral LED lighting.
